Rachel Maddow Beats Hannity By Nearly 1 Million Viewers In Ratings Domination

Rachel Maddow beat Fox News’s Hannity by nearly a million viewers on Wednesday night to be most popular show on cable television.

MSNBC said in a statement to PoliticusUSA:

On Wednesday per Nielsen, “The Rachel Maddow Show” was the #1 cable show among total viewers. Across all broadcast and cable television, “Maddow” was #7 in total viewers (see charts below). “Maddow” was also the #1 program in both total viewers and A25-54 across all cable news. (Note that Hannity trailed Maddow by nearly 900,000 total viewers and 250,000 A25-54 viewers.)

MSNBC prime was #1 in both A25-54 and total viewers.

….

“Deadline: White House” at 4 pm, “The Last Word with Lawrence O’Donnell” at 10 pm and “The 11th Hour with Brian Williams” at 11 pm were all #1 in A25-54 and total viewers for their hours.

Maddow was also the seventh most popular show on all of television on Wednesday night. The eye-popping viewership that Maddow put up is all the more impressive because Wednesday wasn’t a huge breaking news day. Rachel Maddow and MSNBC’s viewership is steadily growing. Even Donald Trump is now tweeting quotes from MSNBC. MSNBC is getting stronger. The network will host the first Democratic presidential debate nights in June, while Fox News will get nothing from the DNC.

Rachel Maddow’s Wednesday show contained a discussion of how Trump may have committed felony insurance fraud.

As Fox News sinks, Rachel Maddow is becoming the dominant narrative voice in cable news primetime.
