Donald Trump Shows What A Hypocritical Coward He Really Is While Speaking To The NRA

While speaking the NRA, Donald Trump demanded that Hillary Clinton’s Secret Service agents give up their firearms, but Trump has also supported banning guns which means that his Secret Service agents should disarm.

Trump said, “So, Americans use guns to defend themselves against violent crime more than a million times a year. Ok? More than a million times a year, and they want to take them away. Heartless hypocrites like the Clintons want to take this, and yet, they have bodyguards that have guns. So I think that in addition to calling for them to name judges, we’ll also call them and let their bodyguards immediately disarm. Ok? They should immediately disarm. Let’s see how good they do. Let’s see how they feel walking around without their guns on their bodyguards.”

The problem is that Donald Trump hasn’t always been such a champion of the 2nd Amendment.

Here is what Trump wrote in his 2000 book, The America We Deserve:

It’s often argued that the American murder rate is high because guns are more available here than in other countries. After a tragedy like the massacre at Columbine High School, anyone could feel that it is too easy for Americans to get their hands on weapons. But nobody has a good solution. This is another issue where you see the extremes of the two existing major parties. Democrats want to confiscate all guns, which is a dumb idea because only the law-abiding citizens would turn in their guns and the bad guys would be the only ones left armed. The Republicans walk the NRA line and refuse even limited restrictions. I generally oppose gun control, but I support the ban on assault weapons and I also support a slightly longer waiting period to purchase a gun. With today’s Internet technology we should be able to tell within seventy-two hours if a potential gun owner has a record.

The problem with Trump’s statement is that he has Secret Service agents protecting him. By Trump’s own standard, his Secret Service agents should be forced to disarm. Donald Trump wanted to ban assault weapons. Trump wanted a longer waiting period on gun purchases. Trump is anti-Second Amendment. Let’s see how safe Donald Trump feels without his Secret Service agents armed and protecting him.

Donald Trump is a pathologically lying hypocrite, whose hypocrisy can only best be challenged by having his Secret Service agents disarm in the name of defending the 2nd Amendment.

If it is good enough for Clinton, it is good enough for Trump.
