Sarah Palin Goes a Feudin’ with Scott Brown

Last updated on August 10th, 2014 at 04:59 pm

Sarah Palin was on Fox Business this morning where she did not hesitate to start a feud with former Tea Party golden boy, now pariah Sen. Scott Brown (R-MA) for daring to vote with Democrats on some issues. Palin claimed that Brown was not a hardcore constitutional conservative and that Massachusetts would, “put up with Scott Brown and the antics there.”

When asked if Scott Brown will be voted out of office because he has worked with Democrats, Palin answered, “That’s Massachusetts and perhaps they are not going to look for such a hardcore constitutional conservative there and they are going to put up with Scott Brown and the antics there. But up here in Alaska and in so many places across the US, where we have a pioneering independent spirit and an expectation that the representative in DC will respect the will of the people and the intelligence of the people; we wouldn’t stand for that.”

The “antics” that Palin was referring to are Scott Brown’s votes with the Democrats on the jobs bill, and the financial reform bill. In the world of the divisive Mama Grizzly bipartisanship is tantamount to treason, and the self-appointed Tea Partier in Chief seems to be looking to make Brown pay. This was Palin’s first very public step in ostracizing the Massachusetts senator from the Tea Party, but as with everything involving Palin, there is also a personal vendetta at work here as well.

There are a few very personal reasons why Palin is upset with Brown. The first reason is that Brown blew off Sarah Palin’s Tea Party rally in Boston this spring, by essentially saying that he had better things to do, and perhaps an even bigger reason is that Brown has already came out publicly, in April on Today, and endorsed Mitt Romney for the 2012 Republican nomination.

There is no greater indicator of just how dysfunctional our political process has become when Scott Brown exhibits a little bi-partisanship and gets labeled a heretic by a political zealot like Sarah Palin. Brown’s way of doing things is how Washington used to work, you know how legislation actually got passed, but the hyper-partisan, selfish, small, zero sum game mind of Sarah Palin can’t comprehend this, so she could not resist taking a very public shot at Brown, and putting him smack dab in the middle of the crossfire in the Republican civil war.
