Former GOP lawmaker Joe Walsh, a self-described Tea Party Republican, went off on Donald Trump on Thursday for teaming up with Benjamin Netanyahu to ban Reps. Rashida Tlaib and Ilhan Omar from entering Israel.
In a discussion with MSNBC’s Chris Matthews, Walsh said he might not agree with Tlaib and Omar on most political issues, but Trump’s tag-team effort to prevent them from traveling to Israel is something a tyrannical king would do.
“It’s un-American,” the former GOP lawmaker said. “It’s Trump acting like a king again. It’s not surprising. It’s Trump. It’s a weak, small, petty, childish move, but we expect that every day from this president.”

Rep. Walsh said:
It’s un-American. It’s Trump acting like a king again. It’s not surprising. It’s Trump. It’s a weak, small, petty, childish move, but we expect that every day from this president. I’m disappointed in Israel. Israel should have told this president to go jump and stay out of it. And I got to be honest, Chris. I’m disappointed every one of my former Republican colleagues should have stood up for their members of Congress, even if we disagree on their politics and I do disagree with Omar and Tlaib’s politics with regard to Israel, but that’s not the point at all.
Trump is again using white nationalism as a crutch
Donald Trump is having a terrible few weeks. The recent massacre in El Paso showed the dangerous consequences of his hateful rhetoric. The economy appears to be headed toward a recession. And his poll numbers are sinking fast.
Trump, desperate to rally his supporters behind him, is going back down the white nationalism well to attack Rep. Omar and Tlaib. He knows his supporters will eat it right up, even as the country and the rest of the world look on in shame.
Donald Trump thinks this disgusting new attack on a pair of minority congresswomen makes him look tough, but it just shows that he’s smaller and weaker than ever.
