Harris said, “This administration has directed DHS to conduct these raids as part of what I believe is this administration’s campaign of terror, which is to make whole populations of people afraid to go to work. Children are afraid to go to school for fear that when they come home, their parents won’t be there.”
Trump has openly admitted that he is trying to terrify migrants and minorities to deter immigrants from coming to America. Trump has been open about the point of the raids, the troops at the border, the detentions is to terrify minorities and immigrants. It is not a secret, which is why it has been stunning that so many in the mainstream refuse to call Trump’s tactics what they are.
The president is engaged in a campaign of domestic terrorism, and as the mass shooting in El Paso showed, he is inspiring others to terrorize and kill innocent people.
Just like any other terrorist, Trump is trying to maintain power by spreading fear. He wants to scare immigrants, people of color, women, his political opponents, and even his supporters. Americans see through the tactics, overcome the fear, and reject this president.
