Republicans Go Insane And Say Epstein’s Suicide Means Dems Should End The Russia Investigation

At least one Republican in Congress is using Jeffrey Epstein’s apparent suicide as an excuse to end House investigations into Trump-Russian election interference.

One of Trump’s most shameless loyalists in Congress, Rep. Matt Gaetz, said on Saturday that Rep. Jerry Nadler, who leads the House Judiciary Committee, should “prioritize a Judiciary investigation into how Jeffrey Epstein died in federal custody” over the probe into the Trump-Russia scandal.

Gaetz’s tweet was a response to Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who reacted to Epstein’s death by saying, “We need answers. Lots of them.”

Luckily, Democrats are capable of walking and chewing gum at the same time.

Not only will they continue to exercise their oversight authority when it comes to this corrupt president, but as AOC noted on Saturday, they will push for answers after Epstein’s apparent suicide.

Be careful what you wish for, Republicans

It’s also important for Republicans to remember that shining the spotlight on Jeffrey Epstein’s sex trafficking operation instead of Russia might not be such a good idea if their sole intent is to protect Donald Trump (which it always is).

They should be careful what they wish for. After all, the president they bend over backward to protect is also loosely connected to the Epstein controversy.

As I noted earlier, newly unsealed documents show that Epstein even recruited one of his victims at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida. And despite Trump’s attempts to distance himself from the sex trafficker, he and Epstein were shown on camera partying together and getting handsy with a bunch of young women.

Republicans are desperate to end any type of investigations into this morally bankrupt president, but urging Democrats to look into the Epstein controversy might not be the best strategy to protect Donald Trump.
