A majority of the American people have seen over the last several years that Donald Trump is an eight-year-old boy in the body of a 73-year-old man.
Washington Post reporter Robert Costa further confirmed this reality on Monday when he reported that the president’s own staff members are reluctant to approach him with any bad news, particular poor polling – even if it’s his own internal polls.
“It’s a dance for many people who surround President Trump because they know how sensitive he is to the polling issue generally and to numbers that seem to be negative, and he always wants to project confidence,” Costa said.

Costa said:
He has always had disbelief when it comes to many polls, both internal polls and public polls, so some advisers in Trump’s orbit are reluctant to bring to him negative information because they know he’ll have a negative reaction to it. So they sometimes try to gently guide him toward acknowledging the steep climb he faces ahead of 2020, while also remarking to him privately by saying many of your core voters are still there. It’s a dance for many people who surround President Trump because they know how sensitive he is to the polling issue generally and to numbers that seem to be negative, and he always wants to project confidence. That’s so much part of his brand, both as a businessman and as a politician.
As PoliticusUSA’s Jason Easley noted earlier on Monday, even a new Fox News poll showed that most Americans – 50 percent – want to see Donald Trump impeached.
The same percentage of the country believes that Trump coordinated with Russia during the 2016 campaign, which seems to align with his latest suggestion that Trump would be open to foreign help again in 2020.
The Fox News survey also shows Trump behind of all the leading Democratic candidates, with Biden polling strongest with a 10-point lead.
Like clockwork, Trump took to Twitter a short time ago to lash out at his favorite news network, saying the network’s polls are “always bad for me,” adding: “Something weird (is) going on at Fox.”
Over the past two years, Donald Trump has given the country many alarming examples of why he isn’t fit to be president.
Whether it’s the stunning use of the presidency to enrich his business and his family members, the embrace of campaign dirt from foreign adversaries, the repeated attempts to obstruct justice or just his generally unstable behavior, this is a man who is manifestly unfit to be president.
The fact that his own staff members can’t share difficult news with him because he might throw a tantrum on the Oval Office floor is a reality that should be troubling to Americans of all political persuasions.
