Republican Teachers In Red Oklahoma Are Ready To Dump Trump

An Oklahoma teacher said that she is a Republican, but looking at voting for the Democratic nominee, if Trump continues to try to privatize public education.

Republican teachers in red states are ready to dump Trump

MSNBC talked to a panel of three Republican and two Democratic teachers in Oklahoma, and teacher Leeanne Jimenez put it best, “Well, our current president has made it clear that he wants to privatize and defund public education for the hopes of privatization and so I’m looking closely at the Democrat candidates even though I’m registered Republican. I won’t get to vote in the primary, but when it comes time, I’m looking to see what I might do.”

Jimenez was asked, “Would you be willing to cross party lines and vote for a Democrat based on education?”

She answered, “If our current president continues on the path that he’s on with public education, yes, I would.”

The Trump/DeVos agenda is to privatize public schools. They are trying to cut funding to public schools to create a have and have not system where education is for children whose families can afford it. Outside of Trump’s devoted base, it is difficult to find Republicans and Trump voters who aren’t considering voting for the Democratic nominee in 2020.

There is a growing sense that the election has gone from being based on Trump’s behavior and character to a belief that on issue after issue, things are not going well in the United States under this president.

Trump is losing to Biden in Texas. Trump voters feel conned in Indiana, and even in Oklahoma there are growing signs of discontent.

The writing on the wall is saying that Donald Trump may drag the Republican down with him in 2020.
