Trump Is Freaking Out As Workers Quickly Flock To Joe Biden’s Campaign

Last updated on July 18th, 2023 at 11:27 am

Donald Trump’s tweeting in recent days has made it abundantly clear: He is terrified of Joe Biden’s appeal in states like Pennsylvania, putting his reelection chances at risk.

In a Twitter post on Monday, Trump took direct aim at Biden’s campaign event in Pittsburgh earlier in the day, taking credit for the city’s low unemployment rate.

“Pittsburgh jobless rate hits lowest point since the early 1970s (maybe even better than that) and Sleepy Joe just had his first rally there,” Trump said. “Fact is, every economic aspect of our Country is the best it has ever been!”

This is only the latest of multiple tweets Trump fired off on Monday either attacking Biden or going after unions for supporting the former VP.

Biden, of course, fired right back at Trump, saying he is “sick of this President badmouthing unions.”

Biden, of course, won the official endorsement of the International Association of Fire Fighters on Monday after the labor group declined to endorse Hillary Clinton in 2016 – a sign that workers are already flocking to the former vice president’s campaign.

The organization represents over 300,000 workers.

The economy continues the positive trend it’s been on since the Obama-Biden years

If the economy went from decline to growth over the course of Trump’s presidency, he might have a good reason to take credit for low unemployment numbers.

But the trendline is clear: The jobless rate has been in consistent decline since the Obama-Biden recovery took hold following the worst economic downturn since the Great Depression.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the same is clear in Pittsburgh (noted in the graph below), which Trump made a point of mentioning on Monday:

Barack Obama and Joe Biden took office in the midst of an economic collapse, worked quickly to pass legislation to stop the bleeding and set in motion the longest streak of private sector job growth in history – a streak that continues to this day.

Biden’s campaign has already triggered Trump

Ultimately, Biden is likely pretty satisfied with the way his presidential campaign kickoff has developed over the past several days.

Not only did the former vice president raise a record amount of money in the first 24 hours of his campaign, but he has triggered Trump in a way that none of the other presidential candidates have been able to do so far.

Ever since Biden’s entry in the race, Trump has doubled down on his post-Charlottesville comments and has thrown daily temper tantrums. His behavior has only underscored Biden’s message that America needs to restore its soul.

Donald Trump’s behavior in recent days is the clearest indication yet that he sees Joe Biden as a major threat to his reelection bid, particularly in parts of the country that Trump needs to win to have a second term in the White House.
