Intent on keeping his title as the world’s worst defense lawyer, Rudy Giuliani defended the Trump campaign taking information provided by Russia.
Rudy Giuliani Defends The Trump Campaign Taking Information from Russia
Giuliani said on CNN’s State Of The Union, “There’s nothing wrong with taking information from Russians. It depends on where it came from. You’re assuming that the giving of information is a campaign contribution. Read the report carefully. The report says we can’t conclude that. People get information from this person, that person.”
When asked if he would have accepted information from Russia, Giuliani said, “There’s no crime. We’re going to get into morality? That’s not what prosecutors look at.”

A Criminal Standard Does Not Apply To Impeachment
Trump and Giuliani are hanging their hat on the criminal standard, but there is no criminal standard for impeachment. There is also no criminal standard at the ballot box. Giuliani’s defense of the Trump campaign talking information from Russia was a total disaster. Rudy put the icing on the cake of the belief that Trump is in Putin’s back pocket.
No other campaign has ever taken information from a hostile foreign power. The Trump campaign should have turned down the info and called law enforcement. The fact that Trump can’t be charged with a crime doesn’t mean that his behavior, or that of his campaign, is not an impeachable offense, and Rudy Giuliani seems to be trying to get Trump impeached.
