White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders is claiming that Democrats aren’t smart enough to understand Trump’s tax returns.
Sanders said, I don’t think Congress, particularly not this group of Congressmen and women are smart enough to look through the thousands of pages I would assume that President Trump’s taxes would be, My guess is that most of them don’t do their own taxes, and I certainly don’t trust them to look through the decades of success that the president has and determine anything.”

The excuse that Sanders offered was silly and nonsensical. Democrats aren’t going to be taking Trump’s tax returns home with them and going through them over dinner. The House Ways and Means Committee will have experts who work for the committee analyze Trump’s returns. Democrats have stated that their reason for being given the returns is policy based. Trump continues to claim that he has been under audit forever, so Democrats want to make sure that the IRS is properly auditing Trump’s tax returns.
The White House doesn’t have a legal leg to stand on when it comes to not releasing Trump’s tax returns. Donald Trump who refuses to release his grades is the last president who should be claiming that there is some kind IQ threshold to being able to see his tax returns.
They are running out of excuses at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, as it is only a matter of time until Democrats have Trump’s tax returns.
