Rep. Ilhan Omar Destroys Trump After He Calls For Her Resignation

Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) had the ultimate response to Donald Trump’s hypocritical calls for her resignation from the House.

Trump said during his cabinet meeting a.k.a. staff pep rally for a failing president on Tuesday, “One other thing I might want to say is that anti-Semitism has no place in the United States Congress. And Congressman Omar is terrible, what she said. And I think she should either resign from Congress or she should certainly resign from the House Foreign Affairs Committee. What she said is so deep-seated in her heart that her lame apology — and that’s what it was; it was lame, and she didn’t mean a word of it — was just not appropriate. I think she should resign from Congress, frankly. But at a minimum, she shouldn’t be on committees, and certainly that committee.”

Rep. Omar tweeted:

Rep. Omar turned the tables on Trump

Rep. Omar was correct. Long before Trump got into politics, he has lived a life steeped in division, racism, and hate. There were those who naively thought that Trump’s racism was a political strategy designed to motivate his base. At some level it is, but what this explanation ignores is that Trump holds racist beliefs.
Omar’s broader point was that Trump and the Republican Party don’t have a leg to stand on when it comes to condemning others for their statements. Rep. Omar apologized. Her apology should be accepted, and people should move on. She made a statement on social media that went too far. There is a difference between the character that Rep. Omar showed that the hate and division that comes out of the Oval Office every day.

If anyone needs to resign, it’s Donald Trump.
