Trump wants to waste more taxpayer money on a 4th of July parade or gathering for himself.
According to the official transcript from The White House as provided to PoliticusUSA:
THE PRESIDENT: Thank you very much, Secretary. Beautiful.
Thank you all for being here. Before we begin, we’re thinking about certain things that we’re just starting to look at. David Bernhardt is, as you know, going through the process — becoming Secretary of Interior, from Acting. He’s done a fantastic job. And I think it will continue, and we look forward to that.
We’re thinking about doing, on the 4th of July or thereabouts, a parade. A “Salute to America” parade. It will be a — really, a gathering, as opposed to a parade, I’d guess you’d have to say. Perhaps at the Lincoln Memorial. We’re looking at sites. But we’re thinking about doing something, which would become, perhaps, a tradition. “Salute to America” on July 4th or July 4th weekend. Somewhere around that area.
And, David, you’re taking charge of that and you’ll see how it works out with schedules and everything else. And I think it could be a very exciting day. And there are fireworks anyway we just saved on fireworks. We get free fireworks because it’s already being done. So, that’s very good.

The 4th of July parade is the latest version of Trump’s parade for himself idea. After his military parade got scrapped, Trump has moved on to spending millions of taxpayer dollars on a 4th of July parade or gathering. America doesn’t need a 4th of July parade or gathering. There is no public demand or outcry for a parade or gathering, but Trump wants to waste taxpayer money on a 4th of July show to make himself feel better and distract the country from his failed presidency.
Instead of a parade, Trump should take the money and give it to the poor and middle-class people who are not getting a refund because of his tax cut for the rich. Only impeachment or leaving office will fix what ails Donald Trump. A parade is a waste of time and resources that won’t fool anyone.
