A new AP finds Trump’s approval rating crashing to 34%, In the same poll, Barack Obama never had an approval rating under 40%.
According to the AP:
Overall, 34 percent of Americans approve of Trump’s job performance in a survey conducted by The Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research. That’s down from 42 percent a month earlier and nears the lowest mark of his two-year presidency. The president’s approval among Republicans remains close to 80 percent, but his standing with independents is among its lowest points of his time in office.

Compared with earlier presidents, Trump’s approval rating has been relatively stable over the course of his presidency, ranging from the mid-30s to the mid-40s. By contrast, President Barack Obama never fell below 40 percent in polling by Gallup.
Trump is also the only president in this poll never to reach 50% approval.
Usually, presidents are brought down by a bad economy, or in the case of Jimmy Carter an international crisis, but it is rare to see a president fail for the reason that they are intellectually and emotionally completely unfit for the job. Trump has all the traits of a failed president. His popularity doesn’t extend beyond his base of party support. He has no policy agenda, and a complete inability to positively sway public opinion in his direction.
Trump’s approval rating is cratering to levels that Obama never got near because he lacks basic political skills. It is almost unfair to compare such an inadequate blob as Trump to a generational political talent like Barack Obama that comes around every 30 or 40 years. Trump is redefining what it means to be a bad president. Republicans tried to define Obama as a bad president for eight years, but Obama’s greatness shines even brighter when compared to the dumpster fire presidency of Trump.
