House Intelligence Committee chairman Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) hammered Trump for outing Speaker Pelosi’s trip to the Afghanistan war zone.
Schiff said, “I’m not going to comment on the speaker’s travel plans. Quite frankly, there has been far too much said about that already. And I think the president’s decision to disclose a trip that a Speaker is making to a war zone was completely and utterly irresponsible in every way. And I’m not going to comment on the Speaker’s travel plans.”
Rep. Schiff added, “Well, look, I can’t say what the president’s motivation is here, whether this is related to his disappointment that the State Of The Union at the time when the government is closed doesn’t make much sense. I can say that all too often in the last few years the president has acted like he’s in the fifth grade. And to have someone who has that kind of character running the country is an enormous problem at every level. We see it now. We’ve seen it over the last two years and my guess is we will see it in the future. But regardless of what the president’s motivation is for this one thing here is, we will not let the President Of The United States tell the congress you can’t do your oversight. That appears what’s going on here. And we are a coequal branch of government. It may not have been that way over the last two years when he had a Republican Congress willing to roll over any time he asked but that is no longer the case.”

Trump threw a fit over not getting his SOTU, so he publicly outed a Congressional trip to a dangerous war zone. It took Trump two years to visit the troops because he was afraid to go to Iraq or Afghanistan. These trips are not PR junkets as Trump called them. They are intelligence gathering missions so that Congress can do proper oversight.
Donald Trump’s actions were beyond petty. They could have gotten members of Congress killed.
Whether it is the government shutdown or outing Pelosi’s trip, the one consistency is that Trump shows no regard or value for the lives of others.
