Fox News Poll Shows 55% Of Americans Won’t Vote For Him In 2020

Last updated on July 18th, 2023 at 11:25 am

Donald Trump may have spent all day in bed watching Fox News, but a poll released by the network on Wednesday is likely to send him further over the edge.

According to the Fox poll, a stunning 55 percent of the country will vote for Trump’s opponent in 2020. Just 38 percent say they will vote to re-elect the president.

Among independents, just 22 percent say they would vote for Trump in the next presidential election.

What’s worse for Trump is that number appears to be stable. Since April of last year, roughly the same majority say don’t want this president to have another term.

The numbers are roughly the same when voters were asked whether they believed Trump would be given a second term. Just 39 percent said so.

Beto O’Rourke continues to climb up the list of potential 2020 candidates

Just barely a month after Beto O’Rourke lost a close election in deep-red Texas, the rising progressive star is firmly on the list of top Democratic contenders ahead of 2020.

According to the Fox News survey, regular names like Joe Biden and Bernie Sanders ranked high among Democrats who say they would make “excellent” or “good” candidates in 2020, but O’Rourke made the list, too.

2020: A perfect storm for Democrats?

With Trump’s popularity limited to his minority base of supporters and his presidency continuing to sink further into legal trouble, 2020 is shaping up to be a perfect storm for Democrats.

Not only will they face a president that is disliked by a solid majority of the country, but their field of candidates is shaping up to be large and strong. He will likely be running against a candidate that is far more likable and qualified than he is.

No matter how you slice it, this poll should have Trump increasingly worried about his re-election chances in 2020 – that is if his presidency makes it that far.
