Chief Justice of the Supreme Court John Roberts criticized Trump for attacking a federal judge and calling him an “Obama judge.”
Trump said:
This was an Obama judge. I will tell you what, this is not going to happen like that anymore. Everyone who sued the United States, they file — almost, they file their case in the ninth circuit and it means an automatic loss no matter what you do, no matter how good your case is and the ninth circuit is really something we have to take a look at.

In response, the AP reported that Roberts said:
'Roberts said Wednesday the U.S. doesn’t have “Obama judges or Trump judges, Bush judges or Clinton judges.” He commented in a statement released by the Supreme Court after a query by The Associated Press.
Roberts said on the day before Thanksgiving that an “independent judiciary is something we should all be thankful for.”
Justice Roberts was correct. We all should be thankful for an independent judiciary, but make no mistake about it, Donald Trump wants to undermine the independence of the judicial branch as part of his quest to make all of the government serve his whims.
With several cases involving Trump's use of executive power and the Russia investigation likely heading for the Supreme Court, the last thing Trump needs is to make an enemy out of John Roberts, but that is exactly what this president is most likely to do.
