A federal judge has ruled that Special Counsel Robert Mueller can move forward in his case against a company charged with interfering in the 2016 election.

ABC News reported:

A U.S. district judge ruled on Thursday that special counsel Robert Mueller’s case against a Russian firm allegedly involved in the state-sponsored effort to interfere in the 2016 U.S. presidential election can proceed, denying the firm’s motion to dismiss for a second time.

Concord Management and Consulting, LLC, which is purportedly owned by a close associate of Russian President Vladimir Putin, is among the three Russian entities and 13 individuals who were indicted in February on charges related to the alleged interference operation.

Concord, which has pleaded not guilty to a conspiracy charge, is specifically accused of funding an infamous St. Petersburg “troll factory” that prosecutors say created hundreds of fake social media accounts in which Russians pretended to be Americans online to sow discord, inspire doubt in democratic institutions and support then-candidate Donald Trump.

This is bad news for Trump

Special Counsel Mueller is also investigating whether people in Trump’s personal orbit were involved in the Russian email hacking of the DNC. Any legal ruling that makes it possible for Russian assets to potentially flip and speak to investigators is bad news for Trump. Since Election Day, it has become more obvious why the president is trying to shut the Russia investigation down.

Robert Mueller was making consistent progress in his pursuit of the truth. Any ruling that leads to Russians being accountable for what they did in 2016 to support Trump is a problem for the White House and the Republican Party. Trump installed Matthew Whitaker as attorney general, but this ruling is a reminder that Robert Mueller is relentlessly grinding toward justice.
