Georgia Democratic gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams called Trump’s racist attacks against her scared and desperate.
Abrams responded to Trump calling her unqualified during an interview on CNN’s State Of The Union, “He’s wrong. As President Obama pointed out, I am the most qualified candidate running. If you look at both my academic background, my work history, I have been deputy city attorney, I was the democratic leader for seven years, I have been successful as a businesswoman, as a writer, and as a tax attorney. I know what I’m talking about and I have the plans to prove it.”
CNN’s Jake Tapper asked, “What do you make of his attacking you that way?”

Abrams answered, “I think that they can see the same numbers that we are seeing. Early voting is up dramatically. We have a plan in place for remarkable turnout on election we have folks knocking doors across the state of Georgia and I think they’re getting scared. And I think desperation tends to lead to, you know, comments that aren’t necessarily grounded in reality.”
Trump and the Republican Party in Georgia are scared. Abrams’ Republican opponent Sec. of State Brian Kemp admitted as much in a leaked audio recording of a campaign event. They are worried about the Abrams turnout operation in Georgia, which is why Republicans are constantly getting knocked down by judges for trying to suppress the vote, and Trump is resorting to the most basic dog whistle politics imaginable to get Republicans to vote against Stacey Abrams.
Donald Trump’s belief that Abrams is unqualified is rooted in racism. The President Of The United States thinks that black people are stupid. Republicans are scared, but they are also mirroring their racist president.
Stacey Abrams was able to both take the high road and call out Trump’s tactics. The Democrat looked and sounded a lot a future governor, which she could be on Tuesday.
