Trump Warned Not To Go To Wisconsin Because Scott Walker Is Going To Lose

Trump ignored the warnings of his White House advisers not to go to Wisconsin because Gov. Scott Walker is going to lose.

The Washington Post reported:
Advisers have urged him, without success, not to travel to Texas or Wisconsin, two states where the president has announced campaign rallies next week. His team had argued he would be wasting his time because they believe Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Tex.) is going to win his race, while Gov. Scott Walker (R-Wis.) is going to lose his.

While aides around Trump have grown increasingly concerned about the prospect of Republicans losing the House, the president himself privately insists the polls are fake and that his performances at rallies will carry Republicans to victory in the midterms.

It would take something seismic, which is exactly what could be happening with Beto O’Rourke, for poor underpaid Ted Cruz to lose.

Gov. Scott Walker is a different story.

Polling in Wisconsin has shown Walker to be in trouble. Walker has been shown to be trailing his Democratic opponent Tony Evers in multiple polls. His approval rating is upside down, voters think the state is on the wrong track, and they haven’t forgotten or forgiven Walker for his 2016 presidential run.

Trump thinks that he can singlehandedly get Republican voters to show up at the polls in Wisconsin and other states by holding rallies. The president has greatly overestimated his powers and popularity especially in Ohio, Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania. Wisconsin voters are tired of Scott Walker, and a visit from the unpopular Trump will only help to seal the unpopular governor’s fate.
