Attorney Michael Avenatti guaranteed on Saturday morning that if the Federal Bureau of Investigation is allowed to fairly and thoroughly investigate the allegations against Brett Kavanaugh, then there is “no way” he survives this nomination process.
According to the lawyer, who represents third Kavanaugh accuser Julie Swetnick, there are multiple accounts and witnesses to corroborate his client’s sworn allegations. All that’s left is for the FBI look to into them.
“If the FBI investigation is not curtailed by the White House or others – if they are permitted to do their job as they do every day in this country – Brett Kavanaugh will not survive this process,” Avenatti said during an interview on MSNBC‘s AM Joy.

Michael Avenatti said:
If the FBI investigation is not curtailed by the White House or others – if they are permitted to do their job as they do every day in this country – Brett Kavanaugh will not survive this process. He will not. If they are permitted to interview witnesses that know of these allegations, there is no way that Brett Kavanaugh will be placed on the U.S. Supreme Court, nor should he.
Throughout this sham confirmation process, Republicans running the committee investigation refused to interview relevant witnesses, particularly Mark Judge and Kavanaugh‘s other accusers.
They simply had no interest in getting to the bottom of the allegations against Kavanaugh. They knew that such an investigation would severely damage any shot the judge had of being seated on the Supreme Court.
The FBI probe will be an entirely different animal. If Trump and Republicans don’t get in its way or work to limit its scope, it will get to the truth of the judge’s past.
As Michael Avenatti said on Saturday, if the FBI is allowed to investigate Brett Kavanaugh the same way it investigates other serious matters, there is no way he ends up seated on the nation’s highest court.
