Michael Jordan Leaps To Defend LeBron From Trump’s Petty Attack: ‘I Support L.J.’

Donald Trump attacked LeBron James on Friday night, questioning the NBA superstar’s intelligence just days after James opened a tuition-free school in his hometown of Akron, Ohio.

In the same tweet, the attention-hungry president said he prefers NBA legend Michael Jordan, writing, “I like Mike!”

What that means in Trump-speak is: I prefer the African American athlete who hasn’t explicitly spoken out against me.

But that could be on the verge of changing as Michael Jordan has now officially chimed in to throw his support behind LeBron James.

In a statement to NBC News, Jordan affirmed his support for Akron-born NBA star and commended him for giving back to his community.

“I support L.J.,” Jordan said. “He’s doing an amazing job for his community.”

Trump’s attack has backfired bigly

Once again, Trump’s attack on more high-profile African Americans – this time LeBron James and CNN anchor Don Lemon – has backfired in a big way. He doesn’t just have one NBA great picking sides against him; he has two.

And while the heated and unsettled debate will surely continue over whether Michael Jordan or LeBron James is the greatest player in NBA history, Donald Trump has once again demonstrated that he will not be included in such a debate as it relates to presidential history.

In short: The last 24 hours has been yet another airball for Donald Trump, a petty president that has completely gone off the deep end.
