Trump Claims IG Report Exonerates Him For Russia Crimes (It Doesn’t)

Trump held a press gaggle to falsely claim that the IG report about the Clinton email probe exonerates him.

Video:

Trump said, “If you see what I’ve done with North Korea and with the State Department, Mike Pompeo, it’s running so well. I have this running so well. I have purposely, because of this ridiculous witch hunt, I have said I’m going to stay away from the Justice Department until it’s completed. So I’ve wanted to stay away. That doesn’t mean I have to. But I don’t want you people to say I’m interfering. That I’m doing anything. I think that the report yesterday may be more importantly than anything, it totally exonerates me. There was no collusion. There was no obstruction. And if you read the report, you’ll see that. Really — excuse me, wait, wait. What you really see is you’ll see bias against me and millions and tens of millions of my followers that is really a disgrace.”

The IG report is at least the fifth time that Trump has claimed something exonerated him. It happens so often that one begins to suspect that Trump doesn’t know what the word exonerate means. The IG report does not exonerate Trump. It states that there was no political bias in the investigative process of the FBI/DOJ. The report destroys the basis for Trump’s claim that the investigation is a witch hunt against him, but to Trump, anything and everything will be used to proclaim his exoneration.

It is interesting that Trump never uses the word innocent. He claims that he didn’t do anything. He claims that the investigation is bogus and that his exonerated, but he never says that he is innocent or that his campaign is innocent.

The IG report is the exact opposite of what Trump is selling it as, but down is up, and propaganda is propaganda.
