Trump used the cancelation of Roseanne Barr’s show to whine that ABC has never called him to apologize for reporting on his administration.
Trump tweeted:
The “horrible statements” that ABC News made about him involve journalists reporting on his behavior, his administration, and the Russia scandal. Trump demonstrates that he has no respect for journalism. The president believes that ABC and every other news organization should behave like his personal state-run television over at Fox News. Trump can’t tell the difference between fact and fiction. He has been lying for so long that he can’t tell what is real and what isn’t.
Journalists no matter who they work for are not going to apologize for factual reporting. Roseanne Barr used a series of racial and bigoted slurs on her Twitter account. No one at ABC has ever used racist or bigoted language toward Trump. The right and Barr herself have been trying to falsely conflate the treatment that Trump receives with racism. This is an intentional attempt to redefine the meaning of racism to excuse the actual racist behavior.
Donald Trump doesn’t get an apology call from journalists who are reporting the facts. It is telling that a man who believes that apologies are a sign of weakness spends so much in office complaining and demanding apologies.
Trump can’t handle the fact that for the first time in his life, he is being held accountable, and what he still has yet to realize is that he can’t tantrum and bully his way into undeserved apologies.
