Trump Just Threw His Own VA Secretary Nominee Under The Bus

Trump said that Ronny Jackson isn’t qualified to run the VA, but he claimed that no one is qualified, and then he suggested that Jackson should withdraw his name from consideration.

Video:

Trump says Jackson shouldn’t do it:

Trump was asked if he would stand behind his VA nominee, and he answered, “I would definitely stand behind him. He’s a fine man. I’ll always stand behind him. I’ll let it be his choice. But he’s a man who has just been an extraordinary person. His family, extraordinary success, great doctor, great everything, and he has to listen to the abuse that he has to — I wouldn’t — if I were him, actually in many ways I’d love to be him, but the fact is I wouldn’t do it. I wouldn’t do it. What does he need it for? To be abused by a bunch of politicians that aren’t thinking nicely about our country? I really don’t think. Personally he should do it, but it’s totally his. I would stand behind him. Totally his decision.”

It is totally his decision, except for the part where Trump is the President and he clearly doesn’t want Jackson running the VA anymore, probably because he has been told that Jackson won’t be confirmed. If Trump wants more of his nominees to get confirmed faster, he needs to vet his own candidates and nominate more qualified people. The problem isn’t the Democrats, or Congress, the problem is that Trump doesn’t vet the people that he nominates, so it makes the process more difficult.

Trump wants Jackson gone, but he is too weak to tell Jackson, so he sends hints, and dances around the subject.
Too lazy to vet, too weak to lead, all the characteristics that make Trump a failed president are were on display with his comments about Ronny Jackson.
