After Trump blabbed about having direct talks with North Korea, Sarah Huckabee Sanders put out a rushed statement trying to take back what Trump had said.

White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders put out a statement trying to clean up the latest Trump mess, “In regards to talks with Leader Kim Jong Un: The President said the administration has had talks at the highest levels and added that they were not with him directly.”
The secret meeting did not involve Trump, but his secretary of state nominee, Mike Pompeo.
The Washington Post reported, “CIA Director Mike Pompeo made a top-secret visit to North Korea over Easter weekend as an envoy for President Trump to meet with that country’s leader, Kim Jong Un, according to two people with direct knowledge of the trip.”
The meeting was supposed to be a secret, but since Trump keeps secrets about as well as your average 4-year-old after a drinking a two-liter bottle of Mountain Dew, there was no chance that the secret would be kept for long.
Trump is so desperate for something that he can call a win that he is legitimizing the N. Korean regime.
The White House is scrambling to clarify and deal with a whole new problem, because as is the norm with the administration, Trump opened his mouth and caught his own staff off-guard.
