Gingrich Blasted For Comparing FBI Raid to Nazi Secret Police

Newt Gingrich, who attacked the FBI’s recent raid of Trump attorney Michael Cohen, is now being attacked himself for his ridiculous and unpatriotic comments. In a television interview on Fox News Gingrich directly compared the United States’ top law enforcement agency to both Soviet dictator Joseph Stalin (who killed 20 million people) and the Nazis’ secret police force, the Gestapo.

In a tweet, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer expressed his displeasure with Gingrich by reminding us that the Gestapo “rounded up and helped murder millions of Jews,” adding that “The FBI did not. Do not ever ever try to equate the two.”

In his Morning Joe television show Joe Scarborough lambasted Gingrich and other Trumpians over their untrue and unpatriotic attacks on Special Counsel Robert Mueller.

“I want Newt to look at that tape again and I want him to ask himself, and I want Fox News to ask themselves, and I want Republicans on Capitol Hill to ask themselves, and I want conservatives across America to ask themselves: are you comfortable with a spokesperson, a lackey for the President of the United States comparing the men and women of the FBI who protect us every day, comparing them to Nazis who slaughtered upwards of 12 million people?” Scarborough said.

Scarborough said he was demanding that conservatives explain why they are okay with comparing the FBI and America’s legal protections and freedoms to the atrocities committed by Hitler and Stalin.

“When you start comparing Robert Mueller to Stalin or Hitler, you are not attacking Robert Mueller, you are attacking the United States of America, you are attacking the United States Constitution, you are attacking the genius of our founding fathers to make sure that for over 240 years those sort of abuses haven’t happened here, and they’re still not happening here. You owe Robert Mueller an apology, you owe the men and women of the FBI an apology and you owe the American people an apology,” Scarborough said.
