After the IG report came out on Andrew McCabe, Trump went on a bizarre rant where he claimed that McCabe is James Comey.
Trump tweeted:
The raid of Michael Cohen broke Trump. James Comey’s book is sending Trump into full derangement. Andrew McCabe is not James Comey. Robert Mueller is not James Comey. James Comey is James Comey, but Trump can’t stop seeing an FBI conspiracy unfolding against him everywhere. Trump has clearly lost it. Whether he ever had it, is a debate for a different time, but Trump is slipping deeper and deeper into the abyss of deranged paranoia.
Every Republican that defends this president, or even worse, enables his delusions by repeating them on cable news is committing a moral crime against their country. Encouraging a president who is displaying such obvious signs of being removed from reality is a betrayal of the oath of office.
Republicans can play games and pretend like Trump’s tweets don’t matter, but they do. Every American has seen a Trump tweet tank a stock or lower the stock market. Millions of Americans have lost money in their retirement accounts based on a statement tweeted by this president.
Trump is the indefensible, and by refusing to do their duty, Republicans are making the president’s mental state a threat to the country.
