Rep. Maxine Waters Just Perfectly Explained Why The Path To Trump Impeachment Goes Through Mueller

Rep, Maxine Waters (D-CA) explained why Robert Mueller’s investigation is essential to connecting the dots that lead to Trump impeachment.

Video:

Rep. Waters said on MSNBC’s The Beat With Ari Melber, “I don’t know what percentage chance to give it except to say this, that I believe that Mueller will connect the dots and I do know he is impeachable and if he crosses certain lines, like firing Mueller, that may put him in a position that even the Republicans may rise to the responsibility and there may be other things that we don’t know about. I have started this conversation early on. Right after he was sworn into office and I learned a lot about his allies and their connection to Russia and the oligarchs, et cetera. So I have continued to talk about this president being unworthy and should be impeached. I know you have the facts. The dots must be connected but I certainly think that if anybody can do it, Mueller can do it.”

Rep. Waters was right. The Mueller investigation is the only one that free of any hint of partisanship. Trump has undermined other Russia investigations in the House and Senate. The president has been trying to put pressure on Mueller, but he has not been successful. Robert Mueller’s investigation is the only one that has the scope and the power to get to the facts in the Russia investigation.

Republicans and Democrats are both interested in protecting Mueller because they understand the value of an objective investigation. Trump firing Mueller is the one thing that he could do that would turn a sizable number of congressional Republicans ahainst him.

For those who want Trump impeached, that path goes through Robert Mueller’s investigtion, which is why so many in Congress are fighting to protect the Special Counsel.
