Beto O’Rourke Shows Why He’s Ted Cruz’s Worst Nightmare On Bill Maher

Texas Democratic Senate candidate, Rep. Beto O’Rourke showed why he is the ideal candidate to face and maybe beat Sen. Ted Cruz on Real Time with Bill Maher.

Maher explained disliked Cruz is by his own party and asked O’Rourke how bitter he was going to feel if he lost to Cruz.

The Democrat turned the question around in impressive fashion, “There’s something happening in Texas, I’ve traveled to 256 of the 254 counties, its Democrats coming out for sure, it’s also Republicans and independents it’s in the big towns, places no one ever visits including Ted Cruz. He was in Iowa, New Hampshire, and Nevada, he visited all 99 counties of Iowa. There are places that haven’t seen a U.S. Senator, we listen to places that we want to serve and represent good but we’re really making a connection. Folks are committing themselves to the work ahead and I think we have a great shot at winning in November.”

Beto O’Rourke is following a playbook that has worked for Democrats since Trump took office. He is running a campaign that is about giving government back to the people. The idea that the government should work for all of the people, not only the wealthy or ambitious politicians like Ted Cruz who have had an eye on the White House since the day he was first elected to the Senate is a powerful message.

Texas is a state that is stacked against Democrats. There is a reason why a Democrat hasn’t run a statewide office in decades.

However, an O’Rouke/Cruz election in an election where the number one issue spoken or not will be Trump is a perfect storm for Republicans.

Texas isn’t crazy about Trump or Cruz, so the door is open for Beto O’Rourke to pull what would be the shocker of all midterm shockers.
