Trump Demands Mueller End His Investigation In Exchange For Interview

Trump thinks that he can tell Robert Mueller what to do, which is why he is demanding that in exchange for doing an interview with the Special Counsel, Mueller will end his investigation of Trump within 60 days.

The Wall Street Journal reported, “The president’s legal team is considering telling Mr. Mueller that Mr. Trump would agree to a sit-down interview based on multiple considerations, including that the special counsel commit to a date for concluding at least the Trump-related portion of the investigation. One idea is to suggest a deadline of 60 days from the date of the interview, the person said. Another consideration for the legal team is reaching an agreement with Mr. Mueller on the scope of his questioning of the president, which they expect to focus largely on his decision to fire former national security adviser Mike Flynn and former FBI director James Comey, according to people familiar with the matter.”

They’re kidding, right?
Robert Mueller doesn’t have to agree to anything. If Trump won’t sit down for an interview, the Special Counsel can subpoena him and force the president to testify before the grand jury. The Trump offer is a joke and a sign that he still doesn’t get it. Trump has no leverage. Robert Mueller holds all of the cards. Mueller probably already knows what Trump, so it is a matter of whether or not Trump is going to perjure himself if he testifies.

Trump doesn’t get to control the time frame of the investigation or the scope of the questions. The president’s lawyers should be urging full cooperation because if Trump is innocent, one would think that he would want to speak to the Special Counsel ASAP and get the investigation wrapped up. By trying to force the investigation to end, it looks like Trump is hiding something, and the bad news for the White House is that Robert Mueller has probably already got it.
