Obama Reminds America That He Never Embarrassed The Country Like Trump

In new audio that was leaked on Monday, former President Barack Obama told a crowd at MIT that there were no embarrassing scandals during his administration – unlike the current group that occupies the White House.

According to the 44th president, the American people probably take his scandal-free administration for granted given the “low bar” Donald Trump has set since taking office.

“We didn’t have a scandal that embarrassed us,” Obama said, according to the recording, taking a clear shot at the current president and sparking laughter in the room. “I know that seems like a low bar. … Generally speaking, you didn’t hear about a lot of drama inside our White House.”

Obama’s right. For eight years, he accomplished what was essentially an unprecedented feat – running an administration free of any major scandals.

Since day one, the Trump administration has been drowning in corruption

Republicans spent eight straight years claiming Obama was the most corrupt president in United States history. Heck, most of them said he wasn’t even born in this country. These were always baseless allegations, but that didn’t discourage them from making them.

Now, when an actual serial liar and corrupt president occupies the Oval Office, these same folks either ignore his corruption or attack those report/investigating it, like the press or Special Counsel Robert Mueller.

When Barack Obama was president, the world viewed the United States with respect. He never stood on the international stage and embarrassed the country, and his administration was never clouded with a major scandal. He didn’t collude with a foreign government to win the presidency, and he certainly didn’t obstruct a criminal investigation.

It’s important to remember that as we look at what’s happening in the Trump White House today. What we see isn’t typical, and it shouldn’t be normalized.
