Parkland Survivor Warns NRA Lawmakers: “We Are Coming After You”

Passionate survivors of the massacre at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School warned NRA lawmakers on Wednesday that they were coming for them.

“We’ve had enough of thoughts and prayers…we are coming after every single one of you and demanding that you take action, demanding that you make a change.” Delaney Tarr, Stoneman Douglas High School senior said on camera.

Asked in an interview published Tuesday by Jen Kirby at Vox what was motivating Tarr to take on this advocacy now, Tarr had a very simple answer that should alarm lawmakers.

“For starters, getting shot at is a big motivator for trying to prevent that from happening again. But this has always been an issue that needs to be fixed. It’s been decades of us just not doing anything about the gun legislation. People have tried to act out, but ultimately, we are given this platform.

The media is paying attention to us, we have social media at our advantage, and we are educated, we are loud. It’s just giving us this chance to promote such advocacy that hasn’t been able to be promoted before.”

Students from Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, where 17 people were murdered with a semi-automatic AR-15 assault rifle last week on February 14th, marched on Florida’s Capital Wednesday to demand a ban on those guns. Carrying signs reading “#Neveragain,” survivors of massacre met with lawmakers in Tallahassee.

Investigators said 19-year-old former student Nikolas Cruz carried out the massacre with an AR-15 he purchased nearly a year ago.

“We want to see some common sense gun laws so this will never happen again,” said Rachel Padnis, a 16-year-old sophomore from the school near Fort Lauderdale.

These students saw 17 of their friends and faculty murdered for no reason. They know that NRA money is the problem. They know how to utilize social media to amplify their voices.
