Students are fighting for their lives against gun violence, and to make sure that the NRA and Trump know that they aren’t going away, they are holding a die in at the White House.
Video:
In recent history, there have not been protests after mass shootings. A cycle of behavior had developed around mass shootings. The media goes into overdrive with round the clock coverage, Republicans say thoughts and prayers, funerals are held, people start to forget in a few days, and everything goes back to business as usual. Parkland is different because students are disrupting the cycle. Students around the nation aren’t settling for thoughts and prayers. They are demanding action, and don’t be fooled by the White House’s vague words about Trump supporting enhanced background checks. Words are not action.
These students are not going away, and they aren’t going to settle for empty words and half measures.
The die in that cable news insists on calling a lie in is just the beginning.
Republicans and the NRA have a choice. Either they pick a fight that they will lose with America’s children, or they do something about gun violence.
