Robert Mueller Bulldozes Trump’s Red Line By Investigating Jared Kushner For Financial Crimes

Robert Mueller has gone exactly where Trump didn’t want him to go. The Special Counsel is investigating Trump son in law Jared Kushner for financial crimes.

CNN reported, “Special counsel Robert Mueller’s interest in Jared Kushner has expanded beyond his contacts with Russia and now includes his efforts to secure financing for his company from foreign investors during the presidential transition, according to people familiar with the inquiry. This is the first indication that Mueller is exploring Kushner’s discussions with potential non-Russian foreign investors, including in China.”

Trump warned Mueller in July 2017 not to investigate his family or his finances, “Mr. Trump said Mr. Mueller was running an office rife with conflicts of interest and warned that investigators would cross a red line if they delve into Trump family finances unrelated to Russia. Mr. Trump never said he would order the Justice Department to fire Mr. Mueller, nor would he outline circumstances under which he might do so. But he left open the possibility as he expressed deep grievance over an investigation that has taken a political toll in the six months since he took office.”

The point of investigating Jared Kushner is to get to Trump

If Mueller is investigating Jared Kushner for potential financial crimes with foreign countries, he is almost certainly investigating Trump in the same manner. In order to unravel the Trump family relationship with Russia, the Special Counsel has to follow the money. The money leads to a tangled web of transactions overseas. Jared Kushner is a person of interest to this investigation, and the gateway to Trump runs through Jared Kushner and Donald Trump Jr.

This is not a witch hunt as the President likes to claim. The Mueller investigation has been decades in the making. The Trump family crimes go way beyond Russia, and they began decades before the 2016 presidential campaign.

Robert Mueller has bulldozed past Trump’s red line. The question is what’s Trump going to do about it?
