Here is the moment during Rod Rosenstein’s press conference when Trump’s Russia denials crumbled to dust.
Video:
Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein said at a press conference, “The defendants allegedly used that infrastructure to establish hundreds of accounts on social media networks, such as Facebook, Instagram and Twitter making it appear those accounts were controlled by persons located in the United States. They used stolen or fictitious American identities, fraudulent bank accounts, and false identification documents. The defendants posed as politically and socially active Americans. Advocating for and against particular candidates.”
We all know that the Russians were advocating for Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton because they left a mountain of proof online of their activities. Trump has always denied that Russia interfered in the election, but thanks to the Mueller indictment, we now know that not only did Russia interfere but they were engaging in an expensive and heavily coordinated campaign to assist Donald Trump.
Trump doesn’t want to admit that Russia interfered in the 2016 election because it raises questions about his own ties to Russia, but the Mueller indictment has collapsed Trump’s denials. The President can continue to live in his fantasy world where he won the election legitimately on his own, but Robert Mueller is coming for him, and the next piece of the puzzle involves finding out who knew what when in the Trump campaign.
