House Intelligence Committee Chairman Rep. Devin Nunes (R-CA) claimed that Trump never met George Papadopoulos, even though there is a picture of the two together in a meeting.
Video:
Nunes said, “So far we can tell, Papadopoulos never even knew, never met with the president. Getting drunk in London and talking to diplomats saying that you don’t like Hillary Clinton is really, I think it is kind of scary our intelligence agencies would take that and use it against an American citizen.”
Trump never met Papadopoulos, except for that picture of him meeting with Papadopoulos
This morning, Devin Nunes, Chair of the House Intelligence Committee just said that Donald Trump, "had never even MET George Papadopoulos." pic.twitter.com/zFV7cEAtbo

Of course, Papadopoulos knew Trump. There is a picture of them together, and the picture was taken at a meeting, so Nunes is 0 for 2 on that one.
The lie told by Nunes was so shamefully obvious and easily debunked that if this is Trump’s point man to derail the House Russia investigation, it is easy to see why they are failing. The picture is a humiliation for House Intelligence Committee chair who has taken what was a deeply respected committee and turned into a partisan conspiracy theory circus.
The House Intelligence Committee can be saved either by Democrats winning back the House, or Nunes being removed as chair. Since will never remove Nunes, the Intel Committee can only be saved and restored by a Democratic takeover in November.
The lies must stop, and Devin Nunes has got to go.
