The Russia investigation is increasingly focusing on Trump’s inner circle. On Tuesday, Trump’s former adviser and campaign strategist Steve Bannon was questioned for 11 hours by the House Intelligence Committee and was subpoenaed to further testify before a grand jury after he claimed to have been told not to answer questions about Russia by the White House.
Now, Trump’s former campaign manager Corey Lewandowski will have to face the House committee’s questions on the investigation. MSNBC confirmed that he would be questioned on Wednesday, along with deputy chief of staff Rick Dearborn.

Lewandowski recently lawyered upĀ in anticipation of having to cooperate with the probe.
His relationship with Trump is not a good one. He was fired from the Trump campaign in June 2016 both because of doubts that he’d be able to manage an operation as large as the one needed for the general election and because of animosity between himself and other members of team. Lewandowski was at one point accused of getting into a physical fight with reporters and protesters.
Also significant is the sour relationship between Lewandowski and Ivanka Trump, who reportedly gave her father an ultimatum after apparently discovering that the campaign manager had been trying to plant negative stories about her husband, Jared Kushner, in the press.
He definitely does not sound like the type of person Trump would want questioned.
