Reports Are Growing That Trump Is Showing Clear Signs Of Memory Loss and Senility

Author Michael Wolff adds new details to what has been speculated behind the scenes in the White House for months, Donald Trump is showing signs of memory loss and senility.

The latest details come from a story Wolff wrote for The Hollywood Reporter, “Everybody was painfully aware of the increasing pace of his repetitions. It used to be inside of 30 minutes he’d repeat, word-for-word and expression-for-expression, the same three stories — now it was within 10 minutes. Indeed, many of his tweets were the product of his repetitions — he just couldn’t stop saying something.”

Wolff claims that Trump was unable to recognize old friends at a New Year’s Eve gathering, “At Mar-a-Lago, just before the new year, a heavily made-up Trump failed to recognize a succession of old friends.”

If Wolff’s account was the only one out there, it could be dismissed, but there is growing evidence that the President may be senile.

During an October 2017 interview with Fox News, Trump answered a question about tax cuts with incoherent babble. A confused and disoriented Trump wandered off from his car and had to be guided back by staff, and while visiting Israel, Trump wandered off from a meeting with Netanyahu and had to be retrieved and returned by staff.

The most damning evidence comes from people inside the White House. A Trump adviser told Vanity Fair, “He’s lost a step. They don’t want him doing adversarial TV interviews.”

Lost a step is a polite way of suggesting that the President’s mind is fading. Trump isn’t some political messaging genius on Twitter. He is a deeply troubled man who can’t stop repeating himself because his mind is leaving. The presidency is most difficult and grueling job in the world. It ages younger presidents by ten years, so the effects on one year on the oldest person ever to take office are catastrophic.

Republicans are doing a criminal disservice to the country by pretending that Trump is a mentally competent president.

Anyone who enables Trump to stay in power will be responsible for the damage that he does to the nation.
