House Republicans made sure that Americans knew who is responsible for harming them by revoting to cut taxes for the rich and pay for it by raising taxes on 86 million Americans.
House Ways and Means Committee Chair, Rep. Kevin Brady (R-TX) continued the festival of Republican lies about the tax cut bill:
Nancy Pelosi ripped the tax cut bill as the worst legislation in recent times:
House Ways and Means Committee ranking member Rep. Richard Neal (D-MA) finally had enough and called out the absurd Republican lies:
In the end, this vote was a formality. Republicans were not going to be stopped. It doesn’t matter who the bill harms. They convinced themselves that they had to cut taxes for the wealthy. Democrats blasted the revote as proof that the bill is rotten to the core.
Republicans managed to pass a bill in a secret and sloppy way that will touch every person and every section of the economy.
Republicans convinced themselves that cutting taxes for the rich would save them, but this bill is unpopular that it is another step toward costing them the House in 2018.
