Trump is so out of his mind that he thinks that he will appoint four Supreme Court justices by 2020.
Axios reported, “They swear he’s not joking. Sources who’ve spoken to the president about the Supreme Court say he tells them he thinks he’ll have appointed four justices by the end of his first term.”
The Trump math comes from the idea that he has already appointed Gorsuch. He thinks Kennedy will retire. Trump also believes that he will get to replace Ginsburg and that Sotomayor’s Type I diabetes will lead to her retirement or death.
The President’s thought process is insane. He may get to appoint another Supreme Court justice if Kennedy retires, but the odds of the other two vacancies occurring before 2020 are slim at best. Donald Trump is living in a fantasy land where he is going to get to appoint 4 of the 9 justices.
Donald Trump is not well. He really does believe that these things will happen, and if they don’t he will find someone to blame. Trump isn’t going to get to appoint four Supreme Court justices before 2020 and the fact that he thinks he will is more evidence that he is not mentally fit to serve as president.
