Puerto Rico Gov. Ricardo Rosselló, who Donald Trump praised in early morning tweets on Saturday, instantly called out the president for spewing yet another false claim.
In comments to CNN, Rosselló fact-checked one of the many claims Trump made this morning about his response to Hurricane Maria.
Tweet via CNN’s Brian Stelter:
“I’m not aware of such inspections, there are areas of Puerto Rico where we really haven’t gotten contact,” Gov. Ricardo Rosselló tells CNN https://t.co/HZbsz3RCkr

The Puerto Rico governor’s correction comes after Trump took to Twitter yet again to claim that his administration has “done a great job with the almost impossible situation in Puerto Rico.” In one tweet, Trump claimed that “all buildings” on the island have been inspected.
The tweets from this detached-from-reality-president:
We have done a great job with the almost impossible situation in Puerto Rico. Outside of the Fake News or politically motivated ingrates,…

…people are now starting to recognize the amazing work that has been done by FEMA and our great Military. All buildings now inspected…..

…for safety. Thank you to the Governor of P.R. and to all of those who are working so closely with our First Responders. Fantastic job!

The governor initially provided some kind words about the federal response, though he said much more needed to be done, but his new Trump fact-check could push him from hero to zero in the eyes of Trump.
After all, Trump judges people solely on whether they blindly admire him and his so-called greatness. If they don’t, he will wage a full-on assault filled with petty, personal attacks.
This was on full display as Trump spent much of the weekend attacking San Juan Mayor Carmen Yulín Cruz, who has literally been on the ground helping her own people, simply because she was asking for more assistance from the U.S. government.
In response, Trump criticized her “poor leadership” and attacked Puerto Ricans for wanting “everything to be done for them.”
Meanwhile, as all of this unfolds, the President of the United States is tweeting more North Korea threats likely from the seat of a golf cart at his ritzy resort in New Jersey.
