Trump took credit for promoting solidarity in the NFL with no understanding that they were standing in solidarity against him.
Trump tweeted:
Great solidarity for our National Anthem and for our Country. Standing with locked arms is good, kneeling is not acceptable. Bad ratings!

Trump was responding to Jacksonville Jaguars players and ownership standing arm in arm before the kickoff of their game in London:
Some NFL owners released statements saying they supported their players right to protest.
The Jaguars’ owner proved it. #TakeAKnee pic.twitter.com/l2yAL1l8ae

What the President missed was that he has managed to bring the NFL together in condemnation of his attacks on the league and the right to free speech. The presidency itself is a bubble that isolates White House occupants to a degree, but what is going on with Trump is happening on an entirely different level. Trump is living inside of a bubble that exists only between his ears.
The President is in complete denial that the vast majority of the country hates him. Trump was so focused on explaining appropriate forms of protest that he didn’t even notice that he was the target of their ire.
Forget his being out of touch the American people, Donald Trump is out of touch with reality.
