As the war of words grows between President Trump and Pyongyang, North Korea’s Foreign Minister compared President Trump to a “barking dog.”
Video from Reuters:
After Trump warned he would “totally destroy” North Korea on Tuesday, which in reality has translated to Trump saying he would add more sanctions, (though it should be noted that a senior Trump administration official told Reuters that the sanctions are not expected to further target oil) and calling Kim Jong Un a “rocket man,” North Korea’s Foreign Minister Ri Yong Ho called Trump’s comments “the sound of a dog barking”.
“There is a saying that goes, ‘Even when dogs bark, the parade goes on’,” the Foreign Minister told reporters in front of a hotel near the U.N. headquarters in New York.
“If (Trump) was thinking about surprising us with dog-barking sounds then he is clearly dreaming,” Ri said.
Asked by reporters what he thought of Trump calling North Korean leader Kim Jong Un “rocket man”, Ri said, “I feel sorry for his aides.”
Meanwhile, poor South Korean President Moon Jae-in pleaded, in what seemed like a rather obvious dig at Trump, for the North Korean nuclear crisis to be handled in a stable manner.
