Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) confirmed to reporters that Senate Republicans would vote on a healthcare bill that will take insurance away from tens of millions and kill thousands of Americans who won’t be able to afford health care each year next week.
Transcript of Graham confirming next week’s vote:
The life and death consequences of this legislation are not an exaggeration:
Somewhere between 26,000 and 30,000 Americans will die each year if Graham-Cassidy becomes law. The previous versions of ACA repeal only took health insurance away from 22 million, and the death toll was estimated at 26,000 people per year. Graham-Cassidy takes health care away from 32 million people and makes insurance more expensive for those who will still have it, so the death toll could easily reach 30,000 people per year.
Graham-Cassidy will kill people, and the truly twisted part of the story is that Senate Republicans don’t care.
