White House Social Media Director, Dan Scavino Jr. shared a fake video of Miami International Airport during Hurricane Irma, as this administration’s lack of attention to truth and detail is the only consistency of the Trump White House.0
Jesse Rodriguez of MSNBC captured the tweet before it was deleted:
You would hope that the "White House Director of Social Media" would know better about authenticating videos before sharing them with POTUS pic.twitter.com/TTourdnZuO

To his credit, Scavino did own up to deleting the fake video:
Thank you. It was among 100s of videos/pics I am receiving re: Irma from public. In trying to notify all, I shared – have deleted. Be safe!

The problem that the White House Social Media Director who claims to be sharing information the President and Vice President should be verifying what he is sharing before he sends it out to the world. An administration official should not be so lax when it comes to facts and details.
Mistakes happen, but the sharing and spreading of false information and fake news have been a consistent behavior of this White House. Donald Trump regularly retweets fake news, and whether it is intentional or not, the spreading of false information undercuts trust and the credibility of the administration.
The people working in the White House need to be better than this. It is not amateur hour, and when a state is being battered by a deadly hurricane, the President and the American people need to be getting accurate information from those who work for the administration.
