During his highly anticipated primetime Afghanistan address on Monday night, during which the president announced a troop surge, Donald Trump said that his change in strategy came after he “studied” the country “from every conceivable angle.”

The internet was having none of it, and quickly laid waste to the president’s claim that he is a thoughtful commander-in-chief who actually has an adult decision-making process.

In a speech Trump hoped to use to change the subject from his disastrous Charlottesville response, he only made himself look more foolish by spewing nonsense that even he knows isn’t true.
Instead of coming off as a strong commander-in-chief, he once again made himself an internet laughingstock.
