Key Senate Republican Says Obamacare Will Be History By The End Of July

Wading back into the politically suicidal waters of repealing the Affordable Care Act and leaving millions of Americans without health insurance coverage, GOP Senate Majority Whip John Cornyn said on Wednesday that Obamacare will be history “by the end of July.”

“Absolutely,” the key Senate Republican said when asked if the law would be repealed by the end of the year. “We’ll get it done by the end of July at the latest.”

Besides promising that the Obamacare repeal and replace plan will be implemented by the end of July, Cornyn added: “One thing I’m sure of is it won’t be perfect. But if it’s better than ObamaCare, I think we will have fulfilled our promise we made election after election to repeal and replace ObamaCare.”

Unfortunately for the Republican senator, it’s most certainly not better than the Affordable Care Act – not even close.

According to the recently released CBO score, the GOP health care plan would cost 23 million Americans their health insurance coverage over the next ten years.

Those who manage to keep their coverage under the replacement plan will see essential health benefits eliminated, and elderly, low-income folks could see their premiums shoot through through the roof by as much as 800 percent.

In the interview, Cornyn correctly said that Republicans are merely trying to keep a promise they’ve been making since Obamacare was enacted in 2010. What he, his party and the president don’t understand is that the American people don’t want them to keep it.

If the GOP is successful in pulling this off by the end of July, as the Republican senator suggested, it will hurt millions of Americans and put the Republican Party at risk of being wiped out of office in 2018.
