Crises in Middle East and North Korea and Trump Takes 18th Golf Trip in 12 Weeks

“Can you believe that, with all of the problems and difficulties facing the U.S., President Obama spent the day playing golf. Worse than Carter,” Donald Trump tweeted on October 13, 2014.

Today, April 15, 2017, faced with crises in the Middle East and now especially North Korea, Donald Trump is on vacation again, another $3 million golf outing on the taxpayer dime:

And it’s only his 18th golfing trip in his 12 weeks as president:

You would not know that he just fired 59 cruise missiles at Syria, or right after that, the so-called “mother of all bombs” (MOAB), the most powerful bomb in the U.S. arsenal that is not nuclear. Because to cite Trump’s own outrage of fewer than three years past, what president when faced “with all the problems and difficulties” would spend the day playing golf?

We are used now to Donald Trump’s blithe hypocrisy, to the complete lack of value assigned by him to his own words, but the world is burning, and part of that is due to Donald Trump’s own careless words and actions. To say nothing of the many unfilled jobs at the State Department.

Former Obama official Chris Lu’s suggestion to eliminate the White House suddenly seems very reasonable indeed. It’s not as if anyone is currently using it to, oh, I don’t know…govern.

That’s being done, to the extent that it’s being addressed at all, on the golf course and in secret meetings at Mar-a-Lago. After all, Trump says he’s saving us taxpayers a whopping $17,500 per year by not keeping visitor logs while he burns $3 million every time he runs to Mar-a-Lago.

Not to mention the $35,000 the Secret Service has had to spend since inauguration day on golf cart rentals to follow the golfer-in-chief around the green.

Think about that for a minute.

If he never took another trip to Mar-a-Lago, he would have to remain president for 171 years to make up the difference. Yeah. Not only is that not gonna happen, we definitely do not want our money back badly enough to put up with that.

The only good news is that we’ll finally find out who visited Trump five years after he leaves office.
