Trump Welcomed To The White House With Legal Action Related To Violations Of The Law

The ACLU has taken legal action against Trump as they are seeking documents related to conflicts of interest, plus violations of the Constitution and federal law.
The ACLU has filed a Freedom Of Information Act request for the documents, “The first legal action, filed yesterday, is a Freedom of Information Act request asking several government agencies to turn over all documents relating to President Trump’s actual or potential conflicts of interest to his business and family connections. The request seeks legal opinions, memoranda, advisories, and communications from the Justice Department’s Office of Legal Counsel, the Office of Government Ethics, the General Services Administration, and the office of Personnel Management from November 9, 2016, to January 20, 2017. The request includes email and all other communication to and from the presidential transition team.”
Executive Director of the ACLU, Anthony D. Romero said, “We are bringing this first legal action using the Freedom of Information Act to underscore the fact that President Trump is not above the law. Trump took the oath, but he didn’t take the steps necessary to ensure that he and his family’s business interests comply with the Constitution and other federal statutes.

Trump has incorrectly stated on numerous occasions that he is above the Constitution. Non-partisan experts have been warning Republicans and the Trump administration that they are wrong. The president is not above the law.

It is fitting that Trump is being welcomed to the White House, not with record-setting adoring crowds, but legal action seeking documents about conflicts of interest and potential corruption.

After eight years of no drama Obama, the American people better buckle up for the real 24/7 Scandal that is Donald Trump.
